First thing in the morning, you come into the office, flick the kettle on and then switch on your computer, and... NOTHING. Well, nothing useful - just a blank screen with one line of text which means absolutely nothing to you. There's none of the usual beeps or flashing lights.
You are without the use of your computer and without an IT support company to call, what are your options?
- Call the 'friend of a friend' who is apparently really good at IT
- Call the local computer shop
- Call a premium rate number to listen to an automated service and be kept on hold for half an hour
- Reach out for the local telephone directory for an engineer who will arrive in approximately 3 hours (or 3 days), by which time you are ready to throw the computer out of the window!)
